I am sad to report that The Dark Knight met his death today on the 6th issue of "Final Crisis."
He was killed by Darkseid. The DC Universe has lost a true hero.
He was killed in "Final Crisis" and not in the infamous storyline "Batman R.I.P." apparently Bruce survived the helecopter crash and reported to the Justice League after speaking with Alfred.
Now, don't think that this is the end of Batman. In the upcomming months DC Comics will be publishing its "Battle for the Cowl" miniseries which will host a bunch of people competing to see who will be the next Batman.
