All Star Batman Series Concluding in 2011
The awesome team of Frank Miller ("The Dark Knight Returns," and "300") and Jim Lee ("Batman: Hush," and "X-Men: Mutant Genesis,") are returning to their once dead "All Star Batman & Robin," series in Februrary 2011 in "Dark Knight: Boy Wonder." This news comes from Wondercon as Jim Lee and Frank Miller said that this new six-issue series will conclude the storyline that they had ended with 2 yrs. ago.
According to Lee; "Frank and I sat down just recently to have a long talk about the best way to finish this very 'deadline challenged' project and give the loyal fans the second part of this epic storyline they have been patiently waiting for. Moreover we wanted fans to know that this story is part of the overall Batman mythos and DARK KNIGHT RETURNS universe which Frank [Miller] started back in 1986." Lee also went on to say that he "felt terrible about how late the book fell behind." -DC Universe The Source.
Overall, the book will begin the storyarc again in Februrary 2011 and will ship ON TIME (THANK YOU!!!) and will definitely conclude the storyline.
I will be following this title in Februrary 2011. so...stay tuned for my review on this title.

My Review for Justice League Rise of Arsenal #1
After the events of "Justice League; Cry for Justice" Star City is in ruins with thousands of people dead and homeless, Green Arrow has killed Prometheus and Red Arrow has been left badly injured by Prometheus. That is the basis for the new Justice League mini-series "Rise of Arsenal."
The beginning of the story takes the reader back to "Cry for Justice" when Red Arrow aka Roy Harper is attacked in the watchtower by Prometheus. During the fight Prometheus manages to severely injure Red Arrow and decapitate his right arm. After loosing an enourmous amount of blood Roy collapses and goes into acoma.
When Roy wakes up he finds everything has changed. Star City was leveled by Prometheus and during the struggle Roy's daughter Lian was killed after the building she and her parents were living in was destroyed. Roy is of course heartbroken by this shocking change of events and cannot bring himself to this death. Meanwhile Roy has dreams & visions of his old friend corey (who died of an overdose several years back) and his wound does not seem to heal because of nanomites that are eating away at his wound. After leaving the watchtower medical facility Roy travels down to the now devastated Star City where he retreats to his own house where he, his wife and Lian lived. In there he finds looters and confronts them. After almost loosing to the looter Black Canary arrives and offers to spend time with Roy to help him get over his pain. However, something is still amuck with Roy as he continues to have visions of Corey. Something isn't right here.
I found myself crying during this issue. Even though I am not a parent I still felt Roy's pain. To me the worst thing in the world is when a child dies before a parent and I think that the death of a loved one is one that most people can relate to. The one scene in this issue that got to me was when Roy saw his daughter's lifeless body in the morgue (talk about gut wrenching).
This issue shows the breakdown of a true hero and how the loss of a loved one can drive a person (even a hero) to the lowest point. DC comics has a nack for doing this and is something that will be seen within the next few issues of this miniseries.

My Review for Batman #697
Nearly a year into his time as Batman and already Richard Grayson has had to deal with the recent crime wave that began in the 4 issue miniseries "Battle for the Cowl" and continues in Batman #697. In this recent issue written by Tony Daniel and Illustrated by Sandu Florea Batman finally confronts the villanous Black Mask who has somehow returned from the dead. Even though it isn't the original Black Mask the question that has been given to the readers for the last 6 issues is "Who is the New Black Mask?" In the end it is revealed to be Jeramiah Arkham the man who built and owned Arkham Asylum before he set loose all of the villians from the asylum and destroyed it in "Battle for the Cowl."
This issue concludes a great storyline that has been running in Batman for the last 6 issues. The fact that the owner of Arkham Asylum is in fact the new Black Mask comes as shocking news to any avid Batman reader. What I found displeasing in this issue is that it brings the question of "How did Jeramiah Arkham become Black Mask?" a question I hope will be answered after or before the return of Bruce Wayne as Batman. What intrigued me the most in this issue is how Richard Grayson has really taken up the Mantle of the Batman. He has realized in the end of this issue that in order to protect Gotham he must completely immerse himself with the Bat and must get rid of who he really is once he puts on the cape and cowl.
As far as conclusion goes, I think Tony Daniel concluded this story extremely well and while concluding this story opens the door for other stories to be told in future.
